General Info

Pirie Aviation Pty Ltd is a “Family” type operation in which you will become a part of,we just don’t train you and discard you once you have your licence,we are here for you as long as you need us.
Accomadation is available in our home (not five star) to students from out of town to save on additional costs if required

Training is best done in blocks if possible of about three days each to achieve the fastest results. Block one from effects of controls to circuits, block two circuits to first solo. block three to practise forced landing. block four to General Flying Progress Test navigation first block of two navs, then two more blocks to Private Pilot Licence Flight Test. This is the best but not the only method, keep in mind that is you want to be a Pilot you will definitely need to be FLEXIBLE because things change that we cannot control ie.weather,work and finances !!

Advanced Training is also available on completion of Licence including Constant Speed Unit,Retractable,Night Flying, Commercial Pilot Training.

Low Level Aerial Stock Mustering Endorsement hopefully in the near future!!

Training will be based at Port Pirie, South Australia.

Training available for Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence, Night VFR Rating, Aeroplane Flight Reviews, Retractable Endorsement.

Costs

Training costs at present are $205 / Hour for Abinitio, $205 / Hour for Navigation ( Includes GST )
Flight Test costs are $110 for GFPT and $150 for PPL (aircraft cost extra at $145/ Hour Tacho Time )
PPL Theory test set by CASA is $45
Minimum flying hours for a Recreational License is 20 hours,Private Pilot License is 40 Hours, however these times are minimum requirements as set out in the Regulations. On average it takes between 20 to 30 hours for Recreational License, 50 to 60 hours to gain a Private Pilot License and the full time Commercial Pilot License is 150 hours minimum.
All flight tests conducted in house by the CFI

Aircraft equipped with Intercom and Active Noise Reduction Headsets.

Some additional expenses may be incurred for Maps,Flight Computers,Flight Case, etc.
